Weekly Roundup For The Week Of 11/26/18

Some very cool releases this week.

We got an extremely trippy Psych Folk album from a new band called The Fernweh. Mixes Fairport Convention style English folk with all manner of modern sounds.

Jeff Tweedy released his first true solo album and it really gives his Wilco stuff a run for it's money. This definitely stands amongst the best of his Wilco output. It's a little more subdued but still the same greatness. Almost like early Wilco if you need a touchpoint.

Album Of The Week: Wheeler Walker Jr.-WWIII
For those who haven't heard him yet, Wheeler is the alter ego of comedian Ben Hoffman. It is the extremely raunchy country musician alter ego of Ben Hoffman. The filth on all 3 of Wheeler's records is unprecedented outside of some hardcore Rap albums. This is pretty much the strongest NSFW music I have ever listened to. The lyrics will make even the most hardened listener blush. This new album is no exception. The country music on this and his other albums is always top notch. This stuff stacks up musically with the best country music has ever had to offer. He keeps his eye on the past but occasionally(for great comedic effect) dips his toes in the "new country" style of things. This album is not to be missed and one of 2018's best for sure!
