Weekly Roundup For The Week Of 10/29/18
Some very cool releases last week.
We got a release that was supposed to come out way back in 1992 from David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti as the duo Thought Gang. A very cool take on dark noir jazz and whatever else they threw at the wall that stuck.
A very weird release came in the form of Audiobooks. It's a duo of a famous producer and a up and coming singer he teamed up with. Kind of spoken word, very synthy. Pretty darn cool!
Spencer Krug put out his last album for his Moonface project. It was a doozy! 2 albums worth of his excellent wide reaching project. It will be sad to see him go.
Dead Can Dance returned with a very trippy extremely world music influenced record that shouldn't be missed.
Album of the week:
I'm gonna have to give it to the trash rock excellence that was the debut Surfbort album. It's a perfect blend of riot grrl snark and blazing garage rock. Not too much to be said for it other than it's solid and it's the best of the week!
