Weekly Roundup For The Week Of 11/5/18

Some really interesting albums came out last week.

We had a second album from Cupcakke which is just more of the same awesomeness we got from Ephorize. So fans will be very pleased!

J. Fernandez returned with a nice set of songs that really expanded on his psychedelic sound. This time taking it to places I had no idea he was capable of.

The Men put out an archival release which harkens back to their pre-breakout days. This one is pummeling and brutal and for fans of their album "Leave Home"(which I am) you shouldn't miss this.

Jon Spencer gave us a pretty cool solo album. It doesn't do too much in the way of anything new aside from having the amazing Sam Coomes from Quasi on keyboards, but we don't really need new when it comes to the awesome garage rock Spencer always provides.

Album of the week:

Definitely goes to Laura Jane Grace and The Devouring Mothers. This is one awesome power pop and rock n roll album. It has touches of punk, 90s alt rock and classic indie rock. This is a far cry from her work with Against Me in sound but not in tone. Highly recommended for fans of Against Me and just good Rock N Roll in general!
