Monthly Roundup July 2017

Some nice releases this month, seemed a bit stronger than last month. Below are the highlights within the highlights! ENJOY!!

UPDATED: SPOTIFY LIST!!

First off we have a nice return to form for Broken Social Scene after not having released an album after 7 years

We also have a great double album from The Melvins, showcasing their rocking side on one album and their noiser side on the other, a great addition to the vast discography.

Boris came back with a heavier album after a few excursions into weird psuedo electro clash style music and pandering to the indie rock crowd.

A great sophomore release from Japanese Breakfast which probably means they are here to stay!

A crazy mess of a double album release from Shabazz Palaces. Probably their weakest album(s) yet it's still miles ahead of most stuff out there.

Waxahatchee released what I feel is her best album in the form of "Out In The Storm". She spread her influences farther on this one and came out with something pretty close to greatness.

Avey Tare from Animal Collective released an extremely trippy mellow new solo album which acts as a real nice respite from the last manic Animal Collective album.

Dizzee Rascal stopped making silly pop music he used to become a top artist in England to go back to his roots with his new album and I couldn't be happier!

Tyler The Creator finally stopped being such a nasty asshole and dropped what I feel is finally a decent album put out by him. He did this by reigning in his shock tactics and even singing in a few of the tunes. Not bad at all. I have included the original title and original cover because I don't even believe in self censorship sometimes.

And finally we have an interesting release that turned out pretty good in the form of Ben Gibbard covering the classic Teenage Fanclub album "Bandwagonesque". Honestly I prefer Ben's version. The vocals are better and the arrangements are very interesting.
